R. Crumb Presents Charlie Patton's Life Story
A Tribute To Two Enigmatic Pioneers Of The Arts Site By: Catman Webb The following pages are the telling of the Charlie Patton Story, as drawn and told by comic book genius, R. Crumb. Mr. Crumb created this comic in 1984. This work serves reminder of where much of the older blues (ie Robert Johnson) found inspiration. It is R. Crumb's vast knowledge of the blues, (documenting it as only he could) that this legendary figure's life story is preserved in a very cool way of discovery. These pages are provided for educational purposes only, under the fair usage exemption of U.S. copyright law in order to promote awareness of country blues. We found these pages from another (very cool) web site and cleaned and optimized them to the best of our ability. Please visit that site's link, where they were found, on the Epilogue Page, at the end of the story. You will note the Official Crumb Web Site link on every following page.
Mr. R. Crumb, Now Residing In Paris, France (to our knowledge) (He is quite a musician himself, you know)
Mr. Charlie Patton, True Father Of The Blues
Final Resting Place of "The King of the Delta Blues", In a cotton field near the tiny town of Holly Ridge, Mississippi. (John Fogerty paid for the Charlie Patton headstone in 1990.)
